Sore today - 18/04/15

Woke up this morning with a really sore back. I think it is a combination of rebuilding a rack last night which included a lot of bending and being in a cramped space and also I hada play fight with my son last night and he punched the crap out of my back and kidneys which at the time didn´t hurt as he is only 8 but thismorning is sore as hell.

I am not going to shoot this morning as I am playing this afternoon so thiis morning I am going to clear out my gym area in the garage again ready to start jump training next week.

I am planning to start the following jump program next week:

Although the program has good exercises I am not going to train every other day I amonly going to train 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Fri) as I am not able to train on weekends.

I plan to do the jump training in the mornings before I do my shooting. I will warm up with 10 minutes on the exercise bike followed by stretching and then do the program.

My weigh in this morning was 96.6kgs so I have lost 1kg this week.

Over the last month I have been slowly getting back into basketball shape. I have a long way to go still but at least I am moving in the right direction. I am now training 3 nights a week and also shooting most mornings and I am starting to feel the benefits.

I also haven´t had coca cola in 2 weeks and have only drunk soft drinks twice in the last week. This has also led to me feeling better after the first weeks sugar comedown!!!!

I have also been drinking lime water first thing in the morning for 2 weeks and I amnoticing that my joints are not hurting quite so much and my stomach is feeling a lot better which is probably a combine effect of no coca cola and the lime juice.

I aim to get down to a playing weight of 80kgs by this time next year with a combined effort of increased training and changing diet slightly to eliminate soft drinks and sweets.

I am going to take it slowly this time to make sure that I stick to the training and do not get injured.

My training is going to progress as follows:

20/03/15-20/04/15 - Shooting training + increasing from basketball training once a week to 3 times a week.

20/04/15-13/07/15 - Adding Jump training and stretching 3 times a week to the training before.

13/07/15 reavaluate training needed.
