Poor - 24/04/15

Todays training was really poor. My head wasnt really in it and wevery time I missed I lost focus!

I had one set that I shot well and the rest were really bad I only shot over 70% in 3 out of the 10 sets today.

My stroke was feeling good but I missed a lot short today for some reason!

It took 162 shots to make the 100 shots today for a poor 61.7%!! down 10% from yesterday.

I have looked online and next week I am going to start doing the make 200 training that I used when I trained when I was at University below.


Basically the training is to make 10 shots at every position which will add up to 200 made shots a day with 40 of the shots being freethrows (Sets 1, 8, 19 and 20).

Sets 2,3,4 & 5 will be catch and shoot shots to get my eye in and work on getting into a rhythm. Sets 6,7, 9, 10, 11,12 and 13 will be game specific off of a fake 3 point shot, fake drive one dribble and shoot. This is the technique that I mostly use during a game where I shoot a mid range jump shot if I do not shoot the 3 point shot or drive to the basket after a faked 3 point shot.

Sets 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 will be catch and shoot 3 point shots.

When I get better at these shots I plan to add 5 sets of step-back shots to add onto the fake 3 point shot, fake drive one dribble and shoot to cover for the defender guarding the shot.
